DOUGHNUTS
2 eggs
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup sweet, heavy cream
1 teaspoon soda
1 cup buttermilk or sour milk
3 1/2 cups sifted flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1. Sift flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg together. Dissolve soda in
buttermilk.
2. Beat eggs in mixing bowl. Add sugar. Beat well. Add cream. Add flour mixture
and buttermilk alternately to egg mixture.
3. Chill several hours. Roll 1/4 inch thick. Cut into forms. Fry in deep
hot fat at 360 degrees F.
